The 2nd Annual Black Tie gala is official! After a two year hiatus we are back, in person, and ready to celebrate with our favorite First Responders!
We are pleased to have Mr. Mike Sherlock, Executive Director of the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, as our guest speaker.
As a former Lyon County deputy sheriff, Mr. Sherlock has served for over 35 years as a peace officer in both Nevada and California. He graduated from Yerington High School and attended Lincoln Law School in Sacramento, California, where he received a law degree and became a licensed attorney.
He has been involved with narcotics for a large portion of his career, but has experience as a K-9 officer, a field training officer, a domestic violence detective, an adult sex crimes detective, a robbery/homicide detective and vice detective. He has held ranks ranging from Sergeant to Commander.
In addition, Mr. Sherlock has been recognized as an expert in narcotics enforcement, undercover operations, victimology, narcotics trafficking and manufacturing, and use of force by peace officers. Mr. Sherlock also teaches constitutional law, search and seizure, and related topics both at the college level and in basic police academies.
Plus, we will have presentations from Lyon County Sheriff's Office and the Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Department.
Don't delay! Reserve your tickets!
